Yellow Brick Breed
What the Yellow Brick Breed is to me is people with disabilities that never give up & this poem will pull on your roots to be proud of your difference
Couple years ago
I thought the devil got me,
he had me in his control,
he tried to prevent me,
block me from being here
(Right here)
but, God,
taught me to believe in myself and,
not worry about anything else, just swim forward like a shark even if its dark,
deep in the ravine
everything feels like pain, I know I been through it.
but hey remember this is your game and let The
devil know when I choose to be ready
there’s no stopping this dude,
he thought if he hurt me
I’ll stop but, I'm not that naïve,
I just re figured my scars into a stronger heart.
now I'm (coming up) (Rising up) like Bumblebee just shut up,
Devil, nothing you can do, when this song hit the loop, my troops behind me,
Beating on the wall, tears, like My gah, we are not frauds but, rather calls of god,
we are not captives,
we are sharks working harder than sheep's
on a steep mountain side to stay up
never fall deep, under mind control sleep,
no fooling us we are no freaks just the next to believe
we can beat those stereotypes set on us.
our ability's, I believe they are unique,
my advantage to shake make these beautiful pieces for the masses
until we knock your socks off and,
knock them walls over like, cave breakers
waiting for the seas to open free between these walls.
I can't breath, please open and set me free, these barriers ain't me, but If I still have a breath to breath, I will always believe,
1 day, (1 Day)
it will not be a dream, no dream
(1 Day)
my friends, we will be set free,
1 day, 1 day
our scream will be carried out like a scheme (hear us scream)
we might need to
fight hard like Martin Luther King
(I have a dream)
because,
we are the Yellow Brick Breed
(the Yellow Brick Breed)
that means we don't give up, we don't give in, we are the trail setters,
the trail blazers, the rock and rollers
knocking them walls over.
